Hope
This message invites us into the profound truth that God is in the business of rescue—not just once, but continually throughout our lives. Drawing from 2 Peter 2:1-9 and Hebrews 11, we're reminded that faith isn't about our perfection, but about God's faithfulness to deliver His people from destruction into safety, from bondage into freedom, from sin into salvation. The sermon walks us through the hall of faith, showing how God rescued Noah from the flood, Lot from Sodom's destruction, and Daniel from the lion's den—not because they were flawless, but because they belonged to Him. We see that righteousness isn't something we earn through our efforts; it's received through Jesus Christ. When we feel unworthy, broken, or trapped in our circumstances—whether financial pressure, relational tension, addiction, or purposelessness—we're exactly the kind of people Jesus came to rescue. The beauty of God's rescue is that He doesn't just pull us out of our mess; He places us somewhere new. From here to there. From slavery to promise. From darkness to light. This Advent season, hope has a name: Jesus. And if God hasn't stopped rescuing His people throughout history, He isn't done rescuing us today.
